IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the final week of the 2022 regular season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabby Fornia • A • Gr. • Vanderbilt • Mount Laurel, N.J.
Fornia set school and American Athletic Conference records with 10 assists and 13 points in the Commodores’ 23-7 win against Cincinnati, clinching a spot in the American Athletic Conference Championship. Fornia assisted on five consecutive Vanderbilt goals between the first and second quarters as part of a 7-0 run that gave the Commodores a 12-3 lead. Her 10 assists were one shy of the NCAA single-game record. Fornia finished the regular season with 23 goals and a league-leading 53 assists for 76 points.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Quinn Nicolai • Gr. • Temple • Moorestown, N.J.
Nicolai had a team-high four goals to go with four ground balls and two caused turnovers in Temple’s 17-7 win against Old Dominion to close the regular season. She scored three consecutive goals in the third quarter as part of the Owls’ 5-0 run that broke open what had been a tied game at halftime. Nicolai leads all American Athletic Conference midfielders with 50 goals entering the postseason.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katie Shallow • D • So. • Temple • Havertown, Pa.
Shallow led a Temple defense that limited Old Dominion to one second-half goal, allowing the Owls to pull away for a 17-7 win in the regular-season finale. Shallow had game-highs of five ground balls and three caused turnovers and added five draw controls. She enters the postseason as the American Athletic Conference leader in ground balls (39) and caused turnovers (31).
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Emma LoPinto • A • Fr. • Florida • Manhasset, N.Y.
LoPinto earns American Freshman of the Week honors for the ninth consecutive week and the 10th time overall after she scored five goals with an assist in a pair of wins in the final week of the regular season. She had two goals and an assist in a 12-6 win against No. 22 Jacksonville and added three goals in the Gators’ 16-4 win against East Carolina. LoPinto leads The American with 79 points entering the postseason (51g, 28a).

Had a goal, three assists, a ground ball, a caused turnover and 11 draw controls in a 17-7 win against Old Dominion.

Scored a game-high five goals and had a draw control in a 17-7 loss at Temple.
 
Callie Sundin • A • Sr. • Vanderbilt • Morristown, N.J.
