ORLANDO, Fla. -- The University of Cincinnati baseball team (23-29, 12-12) won its final series of the season Friday, beating UCF, 6-5. The win locked up the fourth seed in the AAC Tournament for the Bearcats.

Graduate pitcher Tristan Weaver came up big for UC today, relieving the starting pitcher, sophomore Conner Linn, in the first inning. Weaver ended up throwing seven innings of two-run ball while striking out two. Redshirt junior pitcher Jackson Murphy (3-2) was also big out of the bullpen, pitching the final two innings, not giving up any runs and earning his third win of the year.

Although UC has 10 hits, it only had one extra-base hit. Redshirt junior outfielder Paul Komistek went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a walk. Redshirt junior outfielder Griffin Merritt also went 2-for-4, and added two runs and a double. Redshirt senior infielder Jake Hansen also tacked on a couple hits, going 2-for-3.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Zach Agnos, Lane Hoover and Bryson Worrell each collected two hits and drove in a combined four runs, while No. 21 East Carolina's pitching staff struck out nine with no walks in a 5-3 American Athletic Conference series clinching win over Houston Friday at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium. With the victory, the Pirates improve to 37-18 overall, 19-4 in league play and extended their current win streak to 13 games. The Cougars dropped to 34-21 and 13-10 in AAC action.
 
The Pirates scored a pair of runs in the first and second innings taking an early 4-0 lead. Agnos belted his sixth home run of the season to lead off the game with a shot to straight-away centerfield. Two batters later, Worrell deposited a 2-0 offering from Kyle Lacalameto over the left field wall for his team-leading 12th round tripper of the year.
 
In the second frame, Alec Makarewicz drew a one-out walk and crossed home on Agnos' second hit of the night, a double to center. Hoover followed with a single to right-center pushing across Agnos for the would-be game-winning run and a 4-0 lead.
 
Josh Grosz (3-5) earned the win allowing two runs (both earned) on three hits with three punch outs in 4.1 innings. Ben Terwilliger notched his second save of the week and fourth of the season tossing two scoreless frames with one strikeout. Trey Yesavage (0.2 IP, 1 K) and Garrett Saylor (2.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 4 Ks) also threw out of the Pirates' bullpen in the game.
 
Lacalameto (2-3) suffered the loss surrendering three runs (all earned) on three hits with a walk and a pair of strikeouts in 1.2 innings. From the second frame on, the Cougars would use five bullpen arms in Colby Casey (0.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB), Nathan Medrano (2.0 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 Ks), Cameron Prayer (1.2 IP, 1 H, 2 Ks), Logan Clayton (1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 Ks) and Ben Sears (1.0 IP, 1 H).

Memphis 4, Tulane 1 - Box Score
NEW ORLEANS – Trailing 1-0 after the first inning, the Memphis Tigers (25-36, 9-14) scored the final four runs of Friday's matchup, all with two outs, in a 4-1 win over the Tulane Green Wave (30-24-1, 10-13). Memphis earned its fourth consecutive win, second straight conference series win, and set up a sweep opportunity in the regular season finale Saturday.

Dalton Fowler (3-3) issued a leadoff walk to Gavin Schulz in the first, and the Green Wave turned it into a run with a stolen base, sacrifice bunt, and an RBI groundout, as Tulane led 1-0 after one frame.

Memphis' pitching staff allowed just five more baserunners over the final eight innings.

The Tigers tied the game in the second, as Zach Wilson tallied his fourth home run of the year, which tied the game 1-1.

The game remained 1-1 until the top of the fifth inning, when Braden Webb put Memphis in front for good with a two-out solo home run, his first of the year, that gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead.

After Michael Massey departed due to an injury in the eighth, Teo Banks came in to pitch and he surrendered a two-run, two-strike, two-out double to Wilson, which made it 4-1 Memphis, the eventual final.
