Wichita State shook off a slow start against No. 21/19 UCF and exploded for an 11-4 win on Friday night in front of a capacity crowd to tie the Knights at the top of the conference standings. The Shockers trailed 4-0 after three innings and UCF was able to load the bases once more in the fourth without further damage, allowing Wichita State to score 11 unanswered runs over the final two innings for the stunning victory.
 
Neleigh Herring tied the game with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, clubbing a grand slam for Wichita State to square the game at 4-4. Addison Barnard drove in the game-winning runs on a sixth inning two RBI single and Lauren Mills later added a pinch-hit three-run double for the Shockers. Jada Cody reached base three times, along with two hits, and drove in two runs for UCF.
 
Erin McDonald (9-7) tossed the final 4.1 innings of scoreless softball with two hits, three walks and four strikeouts in the Wichita State comeback.
 
South Florida (RV) 13, Memphis 1 (5)
 
South Florida cruised to a 13-1 win in five innings to open its three-game set at Memphis. The Bulls clubbed two home runs and plated their 13 runs on just nine base hits.
 
Madison Epperson went a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI for South Florida, and Josie Foreman added two hits, three RBI and two runs for the Bulls. Alexis Johns and Alanah Rivera both scored twice in the South Florida win.
 
Georgina Corrick (32-5) went the distance for the 30th time this season for South Florida, allowing four hits and registering all 15 Memphis outs by way of strikeout in the victory.
 
Tulsa 5, East Carolina 3
 
Tulsa captured a 5-3 win at home against East Carolina to kick off a weekend set against the Pirates. The Golden Hurricane scored the first four runs of the game, including three in the bottom of the fourth inning, to take control of the game.
 
Imani Edwards broke the contest open for Tulsa in the fourth with a three-run home run, pairing up with a solo jack from Makayla Jackson in the third frame. Celeste Wood added an insurance RBI single in the sixth inning for the Golden Hurricane. Bailee Wilson, Sydney Yoder and Sophie Wools all drove in runs for ECU.
 
Samantha Pochop (11-14) threw a complete game four-hitter with three walks and eight strikeouts on 100 pitches to take the win for Tulsa.
