BATON ROUGE, La. – The University of Houston volleyball team didn’t record a block until the third set, but three rejections and a pair of aces in the final frame helped pace the Cougars to a 3-0 win over Samford on Saturday.
Both senior Abbie Jackson and graduate Kortlyn Henderson hit .300-plus in the match, recording 12 and 11 kills, respectively, to carrying the Cougars to a .306 attacking percentage as a team.
Junior Kate Georgiades corralled 20 digs for the second consecutive match and College Station, Texas native added a trio of Houston’s eight aces in the match

LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Wichita State volleyball team rallied from a two-sets-to-one deficit to knock off Iowa State in the final game of the Rumble in the Rockies on Saturday afternoon at the UniWyo Sports Complex. The Shockers were victorious 21-25, 25-21, 25-27, 25-23, 15-10.
It was the first win over Iowa State in program history, as the Shockers were winless in each of the previous 11 contests against the Cyclones.
Kelly put together one of the most well-rounded matches of her Shocker career, pouring in 21 kills to go along with 11 digs, five aces, and four blocks. It is the second double-double of Kelly's career.
Kayce Litzau directed the offense to the tune of 49 assists, teaming with Rohling for 15 kills and Foster for 12. Libero Lily Liekweg spearheaded the effort to neutralize Iowa State's talented hitters, pacing the Shockers with 15 digs.

Lincoln, Neb. — Four athletes recorded double-doubles to help power the University of Tulsa volleyball team to a 3-2 win (25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 25-27, 17-15) over the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders Saturday to wrap up the Husker Invitational in Lincoln.
The Golden Hurricane was led by Kayley Cassaday, who had 27 kills and 10 digs. In her 66 total attacks, she did not commit a single error.
Aysu Dalogullari followed up with 19 kills and 16 digs.
Avery Kalsu had a big game against the Islanders, putting up 26 assists and 20 digs. Behind her was Marta Pecalli, who recorded 13 assists and 19 digs.
Rachel Brown added 11 kills and Brayden Hipp added 22 assists to help the offense. On the defensive end, Arianna Mongare led Tulsa with five blocks.

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Tulane volleyball team picked up a pair of wins to end the weekend tournament in Beaumont, sweeping Prairie View A&M and taking down Lamar in five sets.
Mackenzie Martin led Tulane with 37 kills on Saturday (4.63 k/s). Melissa Kolurbasi added 20 kills of her own. Kate Van Houten paced the match with 62 assists. Sophia Ervanian held down the defense with 37 digs (4.63 d/s).

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis volleyball team went 2-0 on Saturday to finish the Tiger Brawl, defeating Eastern Washington 3-2 before finishing the day with a 3-1 win over Southern. With the win, Memphis moves to 3-1 to begin the season.
Jasmyn Tate led the Tigers with 29 kills in the two matches, while Miaya Smith (18), Autumn Hamilton (17) and Kate Bass (16) each had double digit kills on the day. Loren Robertson paced the matches with 74 assists (8.22 a/s).
Bailey Houlihan led Memphis with 33 digs, while Robertson added 28. Miaya Smith and Kate Bass both finished with seven blocks.
East Carolina 3, Norfolk State 0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-16) –

GREENVILLE, N.C. – With the chance to end its opening weekend of the season on a high note, East Carolina took care of business by sweeping Norfolk State (25-21, 25-20, 25-16) Saturday afternoon inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Freshman sensation Angeles Alderete earned Pirate Invitational All-Tournament Team honors for her efforts over the three matches, finishing with two double-doubles, 42 kills (4.20 per set), 29 digs (2.90 per set) and a .371 hitting percentage.
ECU produced its highest team hitting percentage of the young campaign, ending up at .308 on the strength of 43 kills. The Pirates also turned it on at the net in the third set, recording six of their 11 total blocks. East Carolina doubled up the visitors 6-3 in service aces while the squads were even at 39 digs apiece.
Alderete was solid all day long, tallying a double-double of 15 kills and 13 digs while hitting a stout .429. Kellyn Trowse added nine kills of her own while Julianna Askew notched 21 assists and two service aces. Shaylynn Hall and Brittany Wood also teamed up to record six and five blocks, respectively.
Carla Hernandez paced the Spartans with 12 kills and Nicole Rodriguez matched Alderete for match-high honors with 13 digs.

Amanda DeWitt led the Bulls with 16 kills, while Marta Cvitkovic added 14 kills of her own. Kelsey O’Loughlin paced the match with 26 assists. On the defensive side, CC Clausen led South Florida with 22 digs.

DALLAS, Texas – Natalie Perdue registered career highs with 20 kills, 11 digs and four blocks in SMU's 3-1 (25-27, 25-18, 22-25, 15-25) loss to SFA at Moody Coliseum Saturday.
She posted her second double-double of the season in the finale of the SMU DoubleTree Invitational. Jamison Wheeler notched her third, slamming home 13 winners and digging out 14 attacks by the opposition.
Rachel Woulfe scored the first two points of the match for SMU, making her the 14th member of the program's 1,000-kill club. She finished with five successful attacks and three blocks on the afternoon.
Freshman Casey Batenhorst posted a double-double in her collegiate debut with 37 assists and 15 digs, while classmate Jentry Lamirand collected 10 digs. Ticker Tatum handed out nine helpers and added 18 digs in her SMU debut.

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati volleyball team knocked off Florida State in four sets Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Bearcats (1-2) wrapped up the inaugural Tribute to #10 tournament with a four-set victory over the Seminoles, who are receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll.
The Bearcats’ offense was paced by sophomore Abby Walker, who finished with a team-high 14 kills, and redshirt senior Kailea Carrier, who had 11 kills at a .318 clip to go along with five blocks.
Senior libero Payton Frederick steadied the defense with 15 digs while freshman setter Caroline Endres dished out 40 assists on the offensive end. Sophomore Shaye Eggleston added an all-around performance for the Bearcats with seven kills and eight digs.
