IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending January 23.

Alemany, who went 19-0 in dual matches as a freshman in 2022, picked up where he left off in Memphis’ dual match opener against No. 20 Duke. Playing at No. 1 singles, Alemany scored a convincing 6-1, 6-3 win against Duke’s top player, who is ranked No. 4 in the ITA rankings. He added a 7-5 win alongside Pau Fanlo at No. 3 doubles to give the Tigers their only win in the doubles round. Alemany began the spring season as The American’s highest-ranked singles player at No. 39 in the ITA rankings.
