IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly indoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, January 29.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
De’Vion Wilson, Jr., Houston
Wilson blazed through the 60-meter hurdles at the Houston Invitational last weekend, breaking the Houston and American Athletic Conference record, set by Marcus McWilliams (Houston) in 2016. His time of 7.69 is the 5
th fastest in the NCAA as of January 31.
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Cole Riddle, Gr., Memphis
Riddle broke his own pole vault indoor school record for a second straight weekend. At the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, Riddle pole vaulted 5.58 meters. He now has the top two American jumps and the 8
th best pole vault in the nation as of January 31.
 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Rylee Penn, R-Sr., Cincinnati
Penn set the top conference marks in two different races at the Bob Pollock Invitational. She ran a 4:37.19 in the mile and 9:14.54 in the 3,000 meter. Her one-mile time is the 24
th best time in the nation, while her 3,000 meter is the 33
rd best time.
 
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Nia Robinson, Jr., South Florida
Robinson set a personal-best in long jump at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational with a distance of 6.42 meters. It is the best jump in The American, second best in program history and the 8
th best jump this season in the NCAA as of January 31. The jump also set an American Athletic Conference record, beating the previous jump of 6.27m by Samiyah Samuels of Houston in 2019. She also has the third-best mark in the conference in high jump with a height of 1.70 meters.
