Tulsa's Pearson Named Player of the Week Following 2-0 Week

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending January 30.

Pearson went 2-0 in singles play at the No. 1 position and split a pair of doubles matches against nationally ranked tandems in Tulsa’s 1-1 week at the ITA Season Kickoff in Columbus, Ohio. He won a three-set battle at No. 1 (1-6, 6-3, 6-0) in a 4-3 setback against Oregon and also battled from an early deficit to take a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory in a 4-1 decision against UCF. He paired with Connor Di Marco for a 7-5 doubles victory against UCF’s top tandem, which is ranked No. 28 nationally. Pearson improved to 5-1 in singles play this season.
