The University of Houston softball team outlasted Delaware to close out the Houston Invitational with a 1-0 victory on Sunday at the Cougar Softball Stadium.
 
Graduate Kenna Wilkey tossed a complete-game shutout to put Houston (3-2) back above .500 on the season. The Braidwood, Ill., native threw 11 strikeouts without allowing a single walk against the Blue Hens. It marked the first Cougar pitcher to toss 11 strikeouts in a game since Savannah Heebner threw 12 against Texas Southern in 2018.
 
On offense, Bree Cantu tallied the game-winning RBI, while Katy Repa scored the lone run in the contest. LA Matthews kept swinging a hot bat, going 2-for-3 on the afternoon.

The University of South Florida split the final day of the USF-Rawlings Invitational, defeating the St. Joseph's Hawks, 4-0, before falling to the Boston College Eagles, 5-4, on Sunday in nine innings.
 
Payton Dixon earned her second start of the season in the first game of the Bulls double header. She continued where she left off on Thursday, retiring nine of the first 13 batters. The Hawks were held hitless until the fourth innings.
 
23 players on the Bulls roster saw action against the Eagles. It's the most players to see action in a single game.
 
Texas Tech 12, Tulsa 1 – Box Score
UT Arlington 3, Tulsa 0 – Box Score
The University of Softball team fell in its final two games of the opening weekend 12-1 to Texas Tech and 3-0 to UT Arlington on Sunday at Allan Saxe Field.
 
Riley Grant (0-2) had the start in the opener and went one-third of an inning allowing six runs, all earned, on two hits and a trio of walks. Kaiya Luneckas made her debut in relief and Kylee Nash pitched three innings with three strikeouts.
 
Notre Dame 9, Memphis 1 – Box Score
The University of Memphis softball team finished up the SDSU Season Kickoff with a game against Notre Dame. The Tigers (0-5) fell to the Irish, 9-1.?
 
Notre Dame struck first, scoring five runs in the first inning. The Tigers cut the deficit by one, with Rachel Britton scoring in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Irish bounced back in the top of the sixth inning scoring four more runs, with Mac Vasquez hitting a two-RBI single and scoring a run.
 
Texas State 7, Wichita State 4 – Box Score
A seven-run third inning for Texas State proved to be the deciding factor in a 7-4 loss for Wichita State Sunday afternoon. Wichita State suffered its first loss of the season, falling to 4-1.
 
Sydney McKinney recorded her fourth multi-hit game of the season behind a 2-for-3 day. Lauren Lucas added another double and two RBI to her impressive start. Through five games she has six doubles and 12 RBI. Lainee Brown hit her first home run of the season.
