IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly golf honors for the  week ending Tuesday, February 14.
 
Men’s Golf Player of the Week
Santiago De La Fuente, Jr. - Houston
De La Fuente turned in the best Houston performance for the Week at the Border Olympics at Loredo Country Club in Loredo, Texas, taking home first place at the tournament. He navigated the par-72, 7,204-yard course with a three-day score of four-under-par 216 (70-71-71), defeating three players ranked in the Golfstat Top 100 along the way. De La Fuente collected two eagles during the course and a 2.83 stroke average (-2) on par-3 holes.
 
Women’s Golf Player of the Week
Anna Nordfors, Gr. - UCF
Nordfors bested par in each round and took home first place at the UCF Challenge on February 5-7 at the Eagle Creek Golf Club. She set single-round records in back-to-back days, shooting -8 on day one before shooting -9 on day two. For the tournament, she shot 195 (-21) while defeating 18 players ranked in the Golfstat Top 100, including five ranked in the Top 28. Nordfors led the field with 25 birdies and had a stroke average of 4.17 (-10) on par-5 holes.
