East Carolina concluded its second road preseason tournament in dominant fashion as the Pirates run-ruled Coastal Carolina 11-3 in five innings to hand the Chanticleers (8-1) their first loss on Sunday afternoon in the Battle at the Beach at St. John Stadium.

ECU (8-2) finished 5-0 in the tournament, and it is the second time this season that the Pirates have run ruled the host team as ECU defeated UNCW 9-1 last weekend.

Addy Bullis (4-0) would remain perfect in the circle, tallying two strikeouts in just two innings pitched. Raelee Brabham (4-1) would surrender five hits and five runs for her first loss of the season.

Tulsa 8, SIUE 3 – Box Score
The University of Tulsa softball team used a massive second inning to defeat SIU-Edwardsville 8-3 in the Golden Hurricane's final game of the Golden Eagle Invitational on Sunday morning.

The Hurricane (5-5) scored six runs on five hits in the second to blow the game open. Tulsa (5-5) finishes the weekend with a 4-1 record, enjoying wins over Alcorn State and Southern Mississippi in addition to its two wins against the Cougars.

Kylee Nash (2-2) picked up her second win of the season, spinning six innings of one-run ball. She struck out six while walking none and allowing six hits. Riley Grant and Maura Moore combined to close out the win.

Wichita State 12, Fairleigh Dickinson 0 – Box Score
Wichita State slugged three home runs, including a multi-home run game from Lauren Mills to finish the Torero Classic with a 12-0 win over FDU in five innings Sunday afternoon.

Wichita State (8-3) finished the weekend with three straight run-rule victories and will now prepare for a big weekend in Denton, Texas, at the North Texas Invitational. They will face a ranked North Texas team twice.

Sydney McKinney recorded her 300th career hit on Sunday, becoming the first Shocker to accomplish the feat in school history. She finished the day 3-for-3, upping her season totals to 27-for-35 after 11 games. She multiple hits in six of the 11 games.

UCF 6, Mississippi 5 – Box Score
The No. 20 UCF Knights held onto a 6-5 win over Mississippi State to close out the TaxAct Clearwater Invitational on Sunday to improve to 5-5 on the season.

The Knights used a four run second inning to take a commanding 6-2 lead over Mississippi State, but the Bulldogs would tie the game in the top of the sixth inning. The tie was short lived as Shannon Doherty would knock in Katie Burge for the go-ahead RPI single in the bottom frame.

Kaitlyn Felton got the start, tossing 5.1 innings, allowing five runs off five seven hits. Angelina DeVoe (W, 3-2) would claim the win with 1.2 scoreless innings, striking out three batters.

Penn State 10, Memphis 0 – Box Score
The Memphis softball team fell in their final game of the JU/UNF Invitational, dropping the game 10-0 to Penn State. The Tigers move to 2-8 on the season after picking up their first wins earlier this weekend.

Penn State struck first as Lexi Black hit a 2 RBI double down the left field line to make the score 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning. The Nittany Lions added a large lead in the bottom of the third inning, scoring seven runs to put them up 10-0. The University of South Florida softball team fell to #8/9 Virginia Tech, 5-1, and Mississippi State, 8-0, on the final day of the TaxAct Clearwater Invitational.

Emilee Hanlon knocked in the lone RBI of the day for the Bulls. With South Florida down by two and a runner in scoring position, Hanlon would get an RBI single to make the score against Virginia Tech 2-1, but that would be the closest the Bulls would get.
