Houston 9, Illinois 3 – Box Score
The University of Houston softball team scored in four separate innings in a 9-3 win over the Illinois Fighting Illini on Friday evening at the Cougar Softball Stadium.
 
Sophomore Turiya Coleman continued to lead the way for Houston (8-4) offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Emma Robertson hit her first career home run in the game and added two runs, while Kenna Wilkey threw her third complete game of the year to earn her fourth victory in the circle.
 
UCF 4, Louisville 3 – Box Score
The UCF Knights rallied against Louisville on Friday night to move to 8-7 overall with a 4-3 win at the UCF Softball Complex in Orlando, Florida.
 
The Knights totaled 10 hits, led by Jada Cody and Shannon Doherty both finishing with two hits. Kennedy Searcy, Shannon Doherty and Savannah Adams each had one RBI. Sarah Willis tossed 3.2 innings to pick up the win. She allowed just one hit and struck out four batters.
 
East Carolina 8, Radford 3 – Box Score
East Carolina 5, Saint Francis 4 – Box Score
The East Carolina softball team earned a sweep on day two of the Pirate Clash, defeating Radford 8-3 in the first game and pulling out a 5-4 win over Saint Francis in the night cap game on Friday night at Max R. Joyner Stadium.
 
In game two The Red Flash would take a 4-2 lead in the top of the third but ECU would chip away over the next four innings, capped off by Edwards reaching base on an error to allow Taudrea Sinnie to cross home for the winning run.
 
Tulsa 7, Furman 4 – Box Score
Mississippi State 12, Tulsa 3 – Box Score
The University of Tulsa began the day with a 7-4 win over the Furman Lady Paladins but stumbled in the afternoon 12-3 in five innings against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Friday in the South Alabama Invitational.
 
The Golden Hurricane moved to 7-6 on the season. The loss to the Bulldogs snapped a five-game winning streak TU had established earlier in the day, which stretched back to day two of the Golden Eagle Invitational a week ago.
 
Maura Moore (4-1) took the win in game one, spinning six innings and allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits with a strikeout. All of Furman's runs came on a trio of homers, including back-to-back in the fifth.
 
Eastern Illinois 9, Memphis 6 – Box Score
Akron 8, Memphis 0 – Box Score
The Memphis softball team fell in the rainy day one of the Frost Classic. The Tigers (2-10) made a late run in their first game of the day before falling 9-6 to Eastern Illinois, followed by 8-0 loss to Akron.
 
Kendall Lee went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI and one home run against Eastern Illinois. In game two, Taylor Smrt and Rachel Britton each tallied hits in the top of the third inning to record the Tigers only hits of the game.
 
Tennessee 9, South Florida 0 – Box Score
The University of South Florida softball team fell to the No. 9 Tennessee Lady Volunteers, 9-0, on Friday night.  
 
Gabriella Nori earned the start against the Lady Vols and quickly got to work striking out two batters in the first inning. She pitched 5.0 innings and struck out six batters. Antoinette Hill and Morgan Grubb also saw action in the circle.
 
Tennessee got on the board first in the fifth inning with a three-run home run from Kiki Milloy. The Lady Vols added six more in the sixth inning.
