Wichita State needed every one of its eight runs to defeat North Texas, 8-6, Saturday on day one of the North Texas Invitational.
 
Wichita State (10-3) opened the day with a 7-1 win over Northwestern State.
 
Sydney McKinney played in her 200th career game in the opener vs. Northwestern State. With a hit in each game, she extended her hitting streak to 31. She is only the 11th player to record a hit streak of 30 or more games in NCAA history.
 
South Florida 6, Michigan State 1 – Box Score

The University of South Florida softball team capped off the USF Invitational with wins over Michigan State, 6-1, and UIC, 7-3, on Saturday night behind homeruns from Marissa Trivelpiece and Hallie Bryant.
 
In the win over Michigan State, junior transfer Marissa Trivelpiece gave the bulls a 6-1 lead with a grand slam, the first of the season for the Bulls. In game two, Jaden Martinez got the start in the circle, tossing 3.1 innings and strikeout out three.
 
UCF 6, Purdue 3 – Box Score
The UCF Knights defeated the Purdue Boilmakers 6-3 on Saturday night at the UCF Softball Complex to improve to 9-7 on the season.
 
The Knights finished with 12 hits with five players having multi-hit games.  Chloe Evans finished with two hits and a team-high two RBI in the win. Savannah Adams hit her first home run of the season. Jewell Grace (W, 2-0) picked up the start in the circle, tossing 3.2 innings.
 
Illinois 3, Houston 1 – Box Score
Pitt 4, Houston 3 – Box Score
The University of Houston softball team dropped a pair of games on the third day of the Houston Tournament, falling 3-1 to Illinois and 4-3 to Pitt.
 
The Cougars (8-6) lost back-to-back games for the first time this season with the losses.
 
Britaney Shaw hit her first home run of the season in the second game, while Turiya Coleman went 4-for-6 on the day with a pair of runs.
 
Western Michigan 11, Memphis 2 – Box Score
Inclement weather ended the Memphis softball team's second day of the Frost Classic, rescheduling their game against UNLV, after falling in game one to Western Michigan 11-2. The Tigers' (2-11) struggles continued through the game, giving up six runs in the first two innings.
 
The Tigers recorded two runs and two RBIs off four hits in the game. Rylee Dugar got the start going 1.0 innings, Hallie Siems came in as relief in the second inning and went 4.0 innings recording two strikeouts.
 
Louisiana Tech 7, Tulsa 4 – Box Score
South Alabama 5, Tulsa 3 – Box Score
The Tulsa softball team dropped a pair of games on Saturday to fall to 7-7 on the season. They lost 7-4 to begin the day against Louisiana Tech, before losing 5-3 in the night cap against host South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.
 
In game two, a four-run sixth inning was the difference. Leading 3-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Jaguars used a pair of home runs to take a 5-3 lead.
