IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending February 26.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Isabella Peterson • Jr. • James Madison • Sparks, Md.
Peterson had a hand in nine of James Madison's 19 goals as the Dukes scored a 19-8 victory at High Point in their only game from last week. Peterson scored eight goals - matching the most by an American Athletic Conference player in a game this season - while she added an assist and seven draw controls. She ranks second in The American with 17 goals through four games and is fourth in the conference with 18 draw controls.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Belle Mastropietro • Sr. • Temple • Springfield, Pa.
Mastropietro scored four goals with two assists five ground balls, 21 draw controls and five caused turnovers in Temple's two games last week. She began the week with a pair of goals, three ground balls, six draw controls and five caused turnovers in a 9-7 win at Delaware. She added two goals, two assists, two ground balls and 15 draw controls - one shy of The American's single-game record - in a 17-9 loss to No. 17 Princeton.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alexandra Giacolone • Jr. • East Carolina • Manorville, N.Y.
Giacolone led a Pirate defense that limited its two opponents to 8.5 goals per game in a 2-0 week. She had a game-high five ground balls in a 20-8 victory against Campbell and had game highs of eight ground balls and five caused turnovers in an 11-9 win at Queens. Giacolone ranks second in The American with 16 ground balls in 2023.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Knight helped East Carolina to wins against Campbell (20-8) and Queens (11-9) as she registered a .533 save percentage and a 7.67 goals-against average in more than 109 minutes. She made five stops and allowed five goals in the victory against Campbell and made 11 saves to key the win at Queens. She made three key fourth-quarter stops against Queens, limiting the Royals to one goal in the final 25:50. Knight enters the week as The American's leader in both save percentage (.521) and goals-against average (7.74).

Epke scored a goal and had six assists - the most by an American Athletic Conference player in a game this season - in James Madison's 19-8 win at High Point. She added four draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover while registering a goal in her fourth consecutive game. Epke is third on the Dukes in scoring at 14 points (5g, 9a).
