The South Florida softball team opened up the season with a walk-off win over Michigan on Thursday night, defeating the Wolverines in extra-innings on a wild pitch, 2-1.

After being placed on second due to the international extra innings rule, Hallie Bryant advanced to third with a ground out. A wild pitch from Michigan would find the backstop and allow Bryant to reach home plate to secure the win for the Bulls.

Megan Pierro led the Bulls at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple. Alexa Galligani was the other Bull to get a hit in the game. Payton Dixon earned the win, tossing 6.0 innings and allowing one unearned run. Antoinette Hill earned her first save of the season.
