No. 3 Tulane Defeats No. 6 Wichita State, 82-76, in Quarterfinals of American Men’s Basketball Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – Kevin Cross led four Tulane players in double figures as third-seeded Tulane defeated No. 6 seed Wichita State, 82-76,  in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship Friday, March 10 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
 
With the win, the Green Wave (20-10) will face Memphis in the semifinals on Saturday, March 11 at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT.
 
Cross led the Green Wave with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Jaylen Forbes added 19 points, including four 3-pointers. RJ McGee posted 17 points and Jalen Cook scored 13.
 
In the second half, the Shockers (17-15) cut the Green Wave lead to one four different times, the last being with 10:55 remaining, but were unable to tie or take the lead.
 
Craig Porter Jr recorded 22 points and 11 assists for the Shockers.
 
In the first half, Tulane pushed its lead as large as 13 and went into the halftime break with a 46-40 lead.
