IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the fourth week of the season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Josh Moylan, Jr., 1B, East Carolina
Moylan aided the Pirates to a perfect 5-0 week by hitting .421 (8-for-19) with five runs scored, two doubles and seven runs driven in. He had at least one hit in every game this week and multiple hits in two of East Carolina’s weekend series sweep over Liberty.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nolan Hudi, R-So., South Florida
Hudi earned the win in a midweek game against Pitt, throwing six innings of 1-run ball, while scattering five hits. The redshirt sophomore struck out 10 while issuing no walks in the 2-1 victory.
HONOR ROLL
Ruddy Gomez, R-Sr., P, UCF
Gomez earned the win in the Knights’ 5-3 victory over Troy by striking out 11 in 7.2 innings of work with three runs (one earned) allowed.
Ben McCabe, R-Sr., C, UCF
McCabe hit .533 (8-15) with four runs scored, three home runs and four RBI in a 2-2 week for the Knights.
Ryan Nicholson, R-Jr., 1B, Cincinnati
Nicholson hit .400 (4-10) in three games for the Bearcats with three runs scored, two extra-base hits and an RBI.
Josh Grosz, Jr., P, East Carolina
Grosz earned the win Saturday against Liberty with 11 strikeouts in six innings. He allowed one run and scattered two hits and four walks.
Clark Candiotti, Jr., P, Wichita State
Candiotti earned the win in the Shockers’ 8-4 victory over Stetson on Friday, striking out eight in 6.2 innings of work with three hits, two walks and two unearned runs.
