Four American Teams Bound for 2023 Postseason WNIT

IRVING, Texas Four women’s basketball teams from the American Athletic Conference are scheduled to continue the season in the field of the 2023 Postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) presented by Triple Crown Sports. Memphis was the automatic qualifier from The American and will serve as a tournament host alongside SMU, with Tulane and Wichita State also accepting bids into the tournament draw.
 
Wichita State is expected to open the WNIT against Kansas State on March 16 at 7 p.m. (ET) in Manhattan, Kan., SMU welcomes Little Rock to Moody Coliseum in Dallas on March 16 at 8 p.m. (ET), Memphis will host Jackson State on March 16 at 8 p.m. in Memphis and Tulane hits the road to face Auburn on March 17 at 8 p.m. (ET) in Auburn, Ala.
 
Memphis (20-10) is set to make its 10th all-time appearance in the WNIT and has compiled an 8-9 record in the tournament entering 2023. SMU (16-12) returns to the WNIT for a ninth time and hold a 5-8 mark in previous trips. Tulane (18-13) will make its 10th trip to the WNIT, owning a 11-9 record. Wichita State (18-14) has a 1-4 record in four previous trips to the WNIT.
