IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly golf honors for the week ending Tuesday, March 7.
 
Men’s Golf Player of the Week
Santiago De La Fuente, Jr. - Houston
De La Fuente turned in the best Houston performance for the week at the Cabo Collegiate Invitational in Cabo, Mexico.  The 79-player field featured 32 Golfstat Top 100 ranked players, with De La Fuente finishing better than 21 of them. He shot par for the course (213) and averaged 4.89 strokes on par-5 holes (-1). He has led the Cougars in scoring in each of the last four tournaments.
 
Women’s Golf Player of the Week
Pimpisa Sisutham, Fr. - UCF
Sisutham won the playoff with Florida’s Maisie Filler to win the gold medal at the Vystar Credit Union Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Florida. In the par-70, 6,002 yard course, the freshman shot -7 in two rounds for a total of 133. Her 62 (-8) on day two set the Gator Invitational record. She defeated 13 Golfstat Top 100 ranked players on her way to the first-place finish and helped the Knights to a third-place team finish in a field of nine Top 36 teams.
