IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women's lacrosse honors for the week-ending April 9.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Isabella Peterson • Jr. • James Madison • Sparks, Md.
Peterson scored nine goals and had 12 points in a 2-0 week for James Madison, which extended its winning streak to 13 games. Peterson had a game-high four goals with two assists in a 20-10 win against No. 23 Richmond, while she added a game-high five goals with an assist in an 18-1 victory at Vanderbilt. Peterson leads The American with 55 goals and 71 points in the 2023 season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Emily Heller • Sr. • Florida • Babylon, N.Y.
Heller scored a game-high five goals with three ground balls and three draw controls in Florida's 17-13 win at Temple. She scored a pair of goals as part of the Gators' 5-0 run early in the game, while she scored three more in the final 19:05 after the Owls had closed to within one in the third quarter. Heller has 24 goals on the season and leads the Gators in ground balls (28) and caused turnovers (14).

Matey had eight ground balls, three caused turnovers and 10 draw controls in James Madison's two wins as the Dukes averaged only 5.5 goals allowed. She had four ground balls and five turnovers in both games, a 20-10 victory against No. 23 Richmond and an 18-1 win at Vanderbilt, and set a program record as she finished the week with 246 career draw controls.

Reznick made 14 saves - the most of any American Athletic Conference goalie this week - to lead Florida to 17-13 road win against Temple as the Gators won their fourth straight game and improved to 2-1 in The American. She made a key fourth-quarter stop on a woman-down situation to protect a two-goal Gator lead, while she limited the Owls to 4-of-9 on free position opportunities. Reznick leads The American with 9.25 saves per game.

Epke scored two goals with three assists and six draw controls in James Madison's 2-0 week. She had two goals and two assists with a ground ball, five draw controls and a caused turnover as part of the Dukes' 20-10 win against No. 23 Richmond. She added an assist and a draw control in an 18-1 win at Vanderbilt. Epke enters the week ranked fifth in The American in assists at 1.36 per game.
