Cincinnati's Ford, Tulsa's Thomas Claim Weekly Golf Honors

IRVING, Texas The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly golf honors for the week ending Tuesday, April 4.
 
Men’s Golf Player of the Week
Ryan Ford, Fr. - Cincinnati
Ford finished in 3rd place in a stacked field at the Mossy Oak Collegiate nine ranked opponents. The freshman shot 12-under par on the 7,212-yard, par-72 course, finishing ahead of 15 Golfstat Top 100 ranked opponents in the process. He tied a Cincinnati program record with an 8-under 64 in the opening round of the tournament. Ford finished with a tournament-best two eagles and a 4.25 stroke average on par-5’s (-9).
 
Women’s Golf Player of the Week
Lilly Thomas, Sr. - Tulsa
Thomas took home first place honors at The Bruzzy in Ardmore, Oklahoma, shooting 208 (-2) in the tournament. She was the lone golfer to shoot under par and finished ahead of four Golfstat Top 100 ranked opponents. She carded rounds of 72-68-68 for her first-place finish and helped guide Tulsa to a second-place team finish in a field that featured six ranked teams. Thomas led the field with 12 birdies and one eagle and held a 4.67 stroke average on par-5’s (-2).
