The 2023 college football season begins Saturday, when Navy takes on No. 13 Notre Dame in Dublin, Ireland, in what will be the first game for Brian Newberry as Navy's head coach.

Newberry is one of seven head coaches in the American Athletic Conference who are making their debuts at their respective schools in 2023. He joins UAB's Trent Dilfer, Charlotte's Biff Poggi, Florida Atlantic's Tom Herman, North Texas' Eric Morris, South Florida Alex Golesh and Tulsa's Kevin Wilson.

Seven coaches at seven institutions. But all will tell you that they have the infrastructure in place to compete right away. It's not a rebuild, but more of a remodel.
