TULSA, Okla. - East Carolina defensive back Isaiah Brown-Murray made a game-saving tackle at the 1-yard line in the final minute as the Pirates secured bowl eligibility with a wild 38-31 win against Tulsa Thursday night at H.A. Chapman Stadium.

Brown-Murray made a diving stop on Tulsa's Kamdyn Benjamin's receiver sweep on a pop pass on fourth down from the 2-yard line as Tulsa threatened for the potential tying touchdown in the final minute. The Golden Hurricane had taken its final possession 74 yards on six plays after getting the ball with 2:07 left.

A 44-yard pass from Cooper Legas to Joseph Williams put Tulsa on the 10-yard line with 1:32 left, and two runs by Legas brought the Golden Hurricane to the 2. Williams could not hold on to a pass in the back of the end zone on third down before Brown-Murray delivered the clinching tackle on Benjamin on Tulsa's final play.

Legans and Williams had connected on a pair of touchdowns in the second half, including a 50-yard bomb early in the fourth quarter to give Tulsa a 31-24 lead.

But East Carolina turned to running back Rahjai Harris, who scored on touchdown runs of 23 and 24 yards late in the fourth quarter to give the Pirates the lead for good.

Harris finished with 114 yards and two touchdowns for East Carolina, which improved to 3-0 under interim head coach Blake Harrell and improved to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in American Athletic Conference play. The Pirates overcame four turnovers and 125 yards in penalties to get the win as East Carolina gained 536 yards of offense and had 27 first downs.

Williams had five receptions for 158 yards and three touchdowns for the Golden Hurricane, which fell to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in The American.
