American women's basketball teams from around the league saw success on opening day of the 2024-25 season, winning a combined six games.
All six wins came at home, as Memphis, Wichita State, UAB, Charlotte, South Florida and North Texas all picked up victories on their home courts. North Texas defeated Alcorn State as Kyla Deck and Tommisha Lampkin both scored over 20 points. Memphis began the day with a win over Mississippi Valley State as Hannah Riddick had amonster performance of 26 points and 17 rebounds.
