The East Carolina and Tulsa women's basketball teams came away with season opening wins on Wednesday night. The Pirates took care of business at home defeating Charleston Southern 81-56 behind 21 points from Jayla Hearp. Taliya Wyche finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Golden Hurricane used a buzzer beating three pointer from Elise Hill to take down Arkansas Pine Bluff, 63-60. Hill finished the game with 12 points, while Delanie Crawford added 19.
