Memphis' Henigan, South Florida's Brown on Walter Camp Award Watch List

08.05.24

IRVING, Texas - Two American Athletic Conference quarterbacks were among the 50 players chosen to the 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.

Memphis' Seth Henigan, the only fourth-year player nationally who will be a four-year starter at the same school, joined South Florida's Byrum Brown, who was one of only two players nationally (along with Heisman Trophy-winner Jayden Daniels of LSU) who had 3,000 passing yards and 800 rushing yards last season.

The Walter Camp Award is the nation's fourth-oldest individual accolade in college football.

The 2024 watch list includes 41 offensive players (20 quarterbacks, 11 running backs, five receivers/tight ends and two offensive lineman) along with nine defensive players.

The 2024 Player of Year watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in early November and three finalists will be announced on Nov. 26.

The 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 133 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced on ESPN’s College Football  Awards Show Dec. 12.
