UAB Wins Nailbiter at South Florida, 62-61

UAB women's basketball (12-6, 3-3 American) snapped South Florida's (11-8, 4-2 American) seven game home winning streak with a 62-61 victory in Yuengling Center on Tuesday night. 

The win marks the first victory against USF since 2003 when the Green and Gold beat the Bulls 62-58 on February 1 in Tampa. 

Journey Armstead and Eleecia Carter combined for 32 points with each recording 16 points, with Carter's 16 points being a season-high. Carter was 6-of-7 in the field goal range and 4-of-5 from behind the arc and Armstead went 4-of-8 from the field and 8-of-8 at the free throw line. Carter added five assists and four rebounds while Armstead tallied four rebounds. Jade Weathersby registered her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds on 5-of-8 shooting in the field and 4-of-5 behind the free throw line. 

The Blazers shot 42 percent and held South Florida to 32 percent for the game. UAB scored 30 points in the paint and had 20 bench points on the night.
