IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s basketball honors for the third week of the regular season.
Player of the Week
Curtis Williams, Jr., Jr., G, Tulane
Williams averaged 21.5 points and 6.0 rebounds as the Green Wave went 1-1 last week. Williams scored 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Tulane defeated Boston College in overtime on Sunday evening.
Freshman of the Week
Kaidon Rayfield, F, UTSA
Rayfield recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Roadrunners’ lone game last week, a 33-point victory over Southwestern Christian on Tuesday.
Honorable Mention
Josiah Shackleford, Sr., F, North Texas
Shackleford aided the Mean Green to a win over Central Arkansas on Thursday with 15 points, three rebounds and two steals.
CJ Brown, So., G, South Florida
Brown posted 24 points and 10 assists as the Bulls fell on the road at Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
Aiden Tobiason, So., G, Temple
Tobiason recorded 21 points, three rebounds and three assists as the Owls defeated Hofstra on Wednesday.
Tylen Riley, Jr., G, Tulsa
Riley averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds as the Golden Hurricane went 1-1 last week.
Kenyon Giles, Sr., G, Wichita State
Giles averaged 19.5 points and 2.5 rebounds as the Shockers split a pair of games last week.
