IRVING, Texas – Tulane leads after the first night of the 2025 American Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship Wednesday evening, February 19, at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium in Dallas.
 
The Green Wave lead after three events with 172 points. North Texas is second with 166 points, followed by Rice (160), East Carolina (158), FIU (123) and Florida Atlantic (98).
 
The FIU team of Diana Santamaria, Frida Loebersli, Oumy Diop and Jessica Shpilko broke the Championship record in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:36.60. Rice placed second in 1:38.19, while Tulane finished third in 1:38.24.
 
North Texas’ trio of Kamryn Wong, Sydney Guidara and Amelia Sharp claimed the team diving event with a Championship-record total score of 312.30. It was the Mean Green’s first event win in The American. FIU placed second with a score of 262.80, while Tulane was third with 254.30 points.
 
In the final event of the evening in the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Tulane group of Lise Coetzee, Rafaela Sumida, Andrea Zeebe and Maya Wilson touched first in a time of 7:10.83. It was the Green Wave’s first win in the 800 free since 2022. Rice touched second in 7:12.52, while East Carolina was third in 7:17.06.
 
Action continues Thursday, February 20 with prelims starting at 11:30 a.m. ET/10:30 a.m. CT and finals starting at 6:10 p.m. ET/5:10 p.m. CT. All sessions will air live on ESPN+.
