Vanderbilt, James Madison, South Florida Players Receive Weekly Conference Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending March 23.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jaime Biskup • Gr. • Vanderbilt • Manorville, N.Y.
Biskup was the leading scorer among all American Athletic Conference players last week as she had nine goals and four assists for 13 points in two wins. She scored five goals with an assist in a 20-13 victory against Rider and added four goals with three assists in a 15-14 win at Charlotte. Biskup figured in three goals (2g, 1a) as part of the Commodores’ decisive 5-0 run in the third and fourth quarters to give Vanderbilt the win in Charlotte. Biskup leads Vanderbilt and ranks fourth in The American in scoring at 3.8 points per game (29g, 13a).
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Kemper Robinson • Sr. • Vanderbilt • Owings Mills, Md.
Robinson scored six goals with an assist, six ground balls and six draw controls in Vanderbilt’s 2-0 week. She had a game-high five goals on five shots to go with three ground balls and four draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 20-13 win against Rider and followed with a goal, three assists, two draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 15-14 win at Charlotte.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Reese Cuivello • Fr. • James Madison • Fairfax, Va.
Cuivello picked up six ground balls and had two caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for James Madison. She had four ground balls and a caused turnover in an 18-3 win against Old Dominion and led a close defense that limited the Monarchs to 12 shots and did not allow a free position opportunity. She added two ground balls in a 14-11 loss to No. 12 Virginia as JMU held the Cavaliers to four second-half goals in the Dukes’ comeback bid. 
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Paige Pagano • Gr. • South Florida • Toronto, Ont.
Pagano helped South Florida to a 2-0 start in American Athletic Conference play as the Bulls topped East Carolina 23-9 in their only game last week. Pagano played into the 38th minute and made five saves, allowing only four goals, and picked up two ground balls as the Bulls held their opponent to single-digit scoring for the fifth consecutive game. Pagano leads The American with a .532 save percentage and an 8.88 goals-against average.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Bailey Lower • A • Fr. • Vanderbilt • Nantucket, Mass.
Lower scored five goals with a ground ball and seven draw controls in Vanderbilt’s 2-0 week. She scored her first career hat trick with three goals and two draw controls in a 20-13 win against Rider, while she added two goals with five draw controls in a 15-14 win at Charlotte. Lower’s second goal against Charlotte, with 9:45 left in the fourth quarter, stood up as the gamewinner as the Commodores overcame a 12-9 second-half deficit.

Scored four goals on four shots in a 15-14 loss to Vanderbilt.
 
Leah Bestany • A • Sr. • East Carolina • Bethpage, N.Y.
Scored five goals with an assist and two ground balls in a 23-9 loss to South Florida.
 
Maddie Epke • Jr. • James Madison • Guilford, Conn.
Scored three goals with three assists and 23 draw controls in a 1-1 week. Had two goals, an assist and 14 draw controls in an 18-3 win against Old Dominion.
 
Juliana George • Gr. • South Florida • Glen Mills, Pa.
Scored three goals on three shots with three assists and three ground balls in a 23-9 win at East Carolina.
 
Nancy Halleron • A • Sr. • Vanderbilt • Timonium, Md.
Scored seven goals on 11 shots in a 2-0 week. Had hat tricks in wins against Rider and Charlotte.
