2025 American Men’s Golf Championship Set for Debut at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla.  The American Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship will be held for the first time at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida, from April 21–23. Teams will compete in three 18-hole rounds, with live coverage of the final round streaming on ESPN+.
 
Split tee times for the opening round on April 21 is set to begin with No. 4 seed Rice, No. 5 seed Florida Atlantic and No. 6 seed East Carolina teeing off of the first hole between 8:30-9:22 a.m. (ET), while No. 10 Wichita State and No. 11 Temple will begin on tee 10. No. 1 seed South Florida, No. 2 seed Charlotte and No. 3 seed Memphis will begin on tee one between 9:35-10:57 a.m. (ET), while No. 7 North Texas, No. 8 UAB and No. 9 UTSA will begin their tournament on hole 10. Teams will be re-paired based on cumulative score for both rounds two and three with split tee times for both ensuing rounds.
 
AMERICAN MEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR AN DEBUT AT THE RITZ-CARLTON GOLF CLUB
The American Men’s Golf Championship will make its debut at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida. The course will play at a par-72 and measure approximately 7,292 yards for the weekend.
 
Designed by Tom Fazio, the golf course is located on 315 acres of tropical landscape, featuring abundant elevation changes and lakes throughout. The last three holes of this Sarasota golf course are some of the hardest consecutive holes in Florida. Nicknamed The Lion’s Den, this trifecta is comparable to The Snake Pit at Copper Head and The Bear Trap at PGA National.
 
SOUTH FLORIDA LOOKS TO REPEAT
The South Florida Bulls took home the 2024 American Men’s Golf Championship, marking the sixth time the Bulls have won the title – the most in The American (2015-18, 2021). They look to become the first team to repeat since, they last won four straight from 2015-2018.
 
The Bulls return 2024 individual title winner Jake Peacock, who shot 11-under 199 at The Pelican Golf Club a season ago. They also return two-time All-Conference selection Shubham Jaglan.

WHERE TEAMS FROM THE AMERICAN STAND IN THE LATEST CLIPPD RANKINGS
South Florida enters the tournament as the highest ranked team in The American as of the April 17 Clippd rankings.  The Bulls enter ranked 32nd. Charlotte enters the championship as the No. 2 seed at No. 44, while Memphis (81), Rice (87) and Florida Atlantic (94) are all in the Top 100.
 
South Florida’s Jake Peacock enters as the highest ranked individual at No. 49, while teammate Shubham Jaglan is ranked No. 63 in the NCAA.  Charlotte’s Justin Matthews is just outside the top 100 at No. 102.
