Charlotte, Vanderbilt Players Represented In Weekly Women's Lacrosse Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending April 6.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kylie Gioia • Sr. • Charlotte • Broomall, Pa.
Gioia scored a game-high six goals with an assist and two draw controls to lead Charlotte to a 17-16 win against South Florida, giving the 49ers their first American Athletic Conference win in program history. Gioia had a hat trick in the first half to stake the 49ers to a 10-7 halftime lead and she scored back-to-back goals midway through the fourth quarter to give Charlotte a 16-13 advantage. Gioia finished the game with 33 goals and 35 assists in 2025 and is one of only three players in Division I with at least 30 goals and 30 assists this season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Kemper Robinson • Sr. • Vanderbilt • Owings Mills, Md.
Robinson led Vanderbilt to a key 12-11 win against Temple, improving the Commodores to 2-2 in The American. Robinson scored two goals, picked up a game-high five ground balls, had three draw controls and had six caused turnovers in the win. The six caused turnovers are the most by a player in The American in a game this season, while she leads the conference with 22 caused turnovers in 2025.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gianna Cutaia • Gr. • Charlotte • Spencerport, N.Y.
Cutaia helped Charlotte to its first American Athletic Conference win in program history as the 49ers topped South Florida 17-16. Cutaia finished with a game-high four ground balls and had three caused turnovers, including a key takeaway on a shorthanded situation in the final 90 seconds that led to a Charlotte goal. Cutaia leads The American with 37 ground balls and is second in the conference with 21 caused turnovers this season. 
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Katie Ling • Jr. • Charlotte • Springboro, Ohio
Ling delivered six of her 15 saves in the fourth quarter to help Charlotte to a 17-16 win against South Florida for the 49ers’ first American Athletic Conference win. Ling had eight stops in the first half as Charlotte built a three-goal halftime lead, and she came up big down the stretch, including a key save with 2:18 left in the fourth quarter as the Bulls looked to tie the score.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Brooke Alessandrini • A • Fr. • Charlotte • Sewell, N.J.
Alessandrini led all American Athletic Conference freshmen with five points last week as she scored a goal and added four assists in Charlotte’s 17-16 win against South Florida. She figured in four of the 49ers’ seven second-half goals, including a third-period goal that gave Charlotte a 13-7 lead. Alessandrini has scored 25 goals with seven assists in her freshman season and is fifth on the 49ers with 32 points.

Scored five goals on six shots with an assist and three ground balls in a 1-1 week.
 
Kali Cleary • M • So. • South Florida • Naples, Fla.
Scored four goals with an assist and 11 draw controls in a 17-16 loss at Charlotte.
 
Sofia Chepenik • A • So. • South Florida • Jacksonville, Fla.
Scored six goals with an assist, two ground balls and 10 draw controls in a 1-1 week.
 
Colleen Beradino • G • So. • Temple • Millersville, Md.
Made 11 saves and allowed only six goals for a .647 save percentage in 46 minutes off the bench in a 12-11 loss at Vanderbilt.
 
Nancy Halleron • A • Sr. • Vanderbilt • Timonium, Md.
Scored three goals with two assists for her sixth hat trick of the season in a 12-11 win against Temple.
