IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the final week of the regular season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dawson Bryce, So., INF, Charlotte
Bryce helped lead the 49ers to a 4-0 week, including a sweep at Tulane, hitting .600 (12-20) with four doubles, one home run and 10 RBI. The sophomore recorded at least two hits in each of the four games. In the season finale on Saturday, Bryce went 4-for-5 with two doubles, one home run, four runs scored and four runs driven in.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Colin Daniel, Jr., UAB
Daniel threw eight innings without allowing an earned run in an 11-3 victory over Florida Atlantic on Friday. The junior scattered five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.
HONORABLE MENTION
Blake Gillespie, Jr., P, Charlotte
Gillespie did not allow a run in four innings while striking out six batters in a 5-0 win over Tulane on Thursday.
Nathan Hodge, Fr., INF, UTSA
Hodge hit .571 (4-7) with three runs scored, two home runs and five runs driven in as the Roadrunners swept Rice.
James Hubbard, Jr., P, UTSA
Hubbard tossed four scoreless innings with four strikeouts in UTSA’s 7-0 win over Rice on Saturday.
Jaden Gustafson, Jr., OF, Wichita State
Gustafson hit .526 (10-19) with six runs scored, one double, two home runs and nine RBI as the Shockers went 4-0 last week.
Brady Hamilton, So., P, Wichita State
Hamilton allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings of work in the Shockers’ 6-5 win over Memphis on Friday to earn a spot in the 2025 American Baseball Championship presented by Regions.
