Charlotte Defeats Queens 6-0

08.25.25

Charlotte Men's Soccer (1-1-0) came away with a win over Queens University (N.C.) (0-2-0) 6-0 on Monday night, which was led by a hat trick from sophomore forward Elias Arsvoll.

The Niners came out aggressively on offense, taking their first shot only a minute into the game. Charlotte continued the offensive aggression until it clicked in the 28th minute of the match when junior forward Natsuki Ogata scored the Niners' first goal of the season off an assist from junior captain Ben Fisher.

From then on, all the momentum was in Charlotte's favor. Less than ten minutes later, sophomore Elias Arsvoll scored his first goal of the night off a double assist from Chadi Mayati and Tate Asante to put the Niners up 2-0 in the 36th minute.

Less than a minute later, Asante and Arsvoll swapped roles as this time Asante found himself celebrating after scoring his first collegiate goal of his career, just seconds after earning his first collegiate points.

The Niners continued to ride this high as once again Elias Arsvoll managed to find the back of the net, this time off an assist from freshman Landon Petz.

While halftime might have forced Charlotte to cool down for a bit, it didn't take the Niners long to heat back up as in the 47th minute, sophomore Orthodoxos Orthodoxou scored his first collegiate goal off an assist from sophomore midfielder Xavier Holloway to make the score 5-0.

Following the Niners fifth goal of the night, the game slowed down a bit on the offensive end for Charlotte until a foul in the box in the 82nd minute on midfielder Ben Fisher resulted in a penalty kick for the Niners that was taken and scored on by none other than Elias Arsvoll to allow him to score his third goal of the night.

With his three goals tonight, Elias Arsvoll has already tied his season goal total from a year ago. Tate Asante and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou both recorded their first collegiate goals in Monday's contest, and Asante, Landon Petz, and Xavier Holloway all recorded their first collegiate points.
