IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the fifth week of the 2025 season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Hedda Ornberg, Jr., F, South Florida
Ornberg tallied seven points last week, including a goal in the Bulls’ 4-2 win over Temple in their conference opener on Thursday, September 11. The junior forward followed that up with two goals and an assist in South Florida’s 6-0 win over Grambling on Sunday, September 14.
Defensive Player of the Week
Evelyn Mackay, So., D, Memphis
Mackay helped lead the Tigers to a clean sheet and a 1-0 win at Charlotte on Thursday. The sophomore and Tiger defense allowed just four shots on target in the victory.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Olivia Dietrich, Jr., East Carolina
Dietrich and the Pirates opened American league play with a 2-0 win over Tulsa on Thursday night. The junior goalkeeper recorded three saves in the clean sheet.
Freshman of the Week
Taliah Brooks, F, Memphis
Brooks scored the game-winning goal in the 85
th minute of a 1-0 Tiger victory at Charlotte on Thursday night.
Honorable Mention
Caitlin Keeling, Jr., M, UAB
Keeling scored a goal and added an assist in the Blazers’ 3-3 draw with Rice on Thursday.
Alyssa Tucker, Jr., F, East Carolina
Tucker scored the game-winning goal for the Pirates in a 2-0 win over Tulsa on Thursday.
Leah Chancey, Gr., M, Rice
Chancey recorded a goal and provided two assists in the Owls’ 3-3 draw with UAB.
Sadie Sider-Echenberg, Sr., M, South Florida
Sider-Echenberg scored a goal in South Florida’s 4-2 win over Temple and added a goal and an assist in a 6-0 win over Grambling.
Zoe May, Sr., M, UTSA
May and the Roadrunner defense limited Florida Atlantic to three shots on goal in a 2-1 win on Thursday. The senior also scored a goal and assisted on the other Roadrunner score.
