Tulane defeated RV/RV North Carolina State, 60-51, Monday evening at Devlin Fieldhouse. In a physical contest that witnessed 13 lead changes and four ties, it was the trio of Kolby Morgan, Jamie Kaplan and Danielle Blagg who spearheaded the Tulane attack with a combined 40 points to help Tulane move to 4-0 for the fifth straight year.
N.C. State, who averages 75.2 points per game, was limited to just 51 thanks to the Green Wave defense. The Wolfpack also entered the contest shooting 41.4 percent from the field, and left Devlin Fieldhouse with a 16-of-52 performance (30.8 percent). Tulane has forced all of its opponents this season to a .340 shooting percentage or lower, with the Wolfpack's percentage coming in at the lowest.
Morgan led the Green Wave in scoring for the third time in four games, capturing 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, one point shy of her season best. The two-time American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week also tallied season highs in rebounds (8), assists (4) and made free throws (5-of-6).
Also recording her fourth consecutive game in double figures was Danielle Blagg, who finished with 12 points. Jamie Kaplan scored a season-high 13 points and dished out a team high five assists.
Tulane is back in action on Friday, Nov. 28 at the Hofstra Thanksgiving Tournament.
