Editor’s Note: Heading into the Holiday Season and the end of 2014 we thought it would be nice to look back at some of the great moments from this past fall. We scoured through lots of video footage and came up with our “12 Plays of Christmas”. Every day we will reveal a new play or moment that we consider to be one of our best from the year. The list will end with play number 1 on Christmas Eve.
Day 11– Justin Hardy Record
Watch Moment
November 22nd was a special day for East Carolina football and specifically wide receiver Justin Hardy. A former walk-on for the Pirates, Hardy entered the game against Tulane just 4 receptions shy of the NCAA (FBS) career receptions record. The previous record of 349 was set by Ryan Broyles at Oklahoma from 2008-2011.
With 6 minutes left in the first half, Shane Carden hit Hardy on an eight yard timing route and the crowd erupted as the record was now Hardy's. Hardy finished the day with nine receptions for 104 yards. Hardy breaking the FBS record lands a spot on our 12 Plays of Christmas Countdown, take a look.
