Down 17 with 7:21 to play, Temple climbed back into the game and scored 11 points in the final 44 seconds, but it wasn't enough as Villanova held on for a 64-59 victory Monday morning in Philadelphia Big 5 action. Both teams now stand at 4-8 overall. It was a tale of two halves for the Owls as the team shot just 17.6-percent from the field in the first half, but rebounded to make 50-percent of its attempts in the second period. Freshman Tanaya Atkinson paced Temple with 22 points while also adding seven boards. Junior Erica Covile notched a double-double with 11 points and a game-high tying 10 rebounds.

Tulane (9-2) fell 65-54 to visiting Florida State (12-1) Monday evening in the Green Wave's final non-conference game of the season. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for Tulane. The Green Wave held the Seminoles to a season low 65 points and forced Florida State to tie its season high of 22 turnovers. Tiffany Dale paced Tulane with a season high 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the floor. The senior also added six rebounds and three blocks. Chinwe Duru put up a season-high 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field.
