USF picked up a road win at Cincinnati while No. 1/1 UConn and No. 3/3 Louisville remained undefeated at home during Wednesday women’s basketball action around the conference.
Courtney Williams recorded her sixth double-double of the year (17 points, 10 rebounds) in USF’s 62-43 win over Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena. Alyesha Lovett scored a game-high 20 points for the Bearcats, her second-straight game equaling the 20-point plateau. USF outrebounded Cincinnati 47-28 and led 19-0 in bench points.
Bria Hartley and Breanna Stewart had milestone games in UConn’s 83-35 win over UCF. Hartley became the third Husky in program history to record 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a career. Stewart led all players with 23 points and scored her 1,000th career point in the victory. Zykira Lewis and Sara Djassi paced UCF with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Shoni Schimmel scored 15 points to top 2,000 for her career in Louisville’s 81-62 win over Houston. The senior is second on the Cardinals’ all-time scoring list behind Angel McCoughtry. Marche’ Amerson had a game and career-high 23 points for the Cougars. Jessieka Palmer added 16 points in 22 minutes off the bench.
