USF Head Coach Jose Fernandez led the Bulls to a 71-58 victory at Memphis in his first game back since Jan. 29. Fernandez missed the Louisville game on Feb. 2 due to an illness.
Inga Orekhova scored a season-high 20 points for USF. Katelyn Weber added 11 points and a career-high nine rebounds. Memphis got a team-high 16 points from Ariel Hearn. Breigha Wilder-Cochran chipped in with 15 points.
The Tigers cut the deficit down to nine on two occasions, but that was as close as they would get. The Bulls knocked down 10-of-13 second half free-throw attempts to keep the Tigers at bay.
Three games highlight the conference schedule on Saturday. Cincinnati hosts Houston in a Play 4Kay game at 2 p.m. eastern while in-state rivals UCF and USF face off at the Sun Dome at 2 p.m. ET. SMU travels to Rutgers for a 3 p.m. contest.
