Cincinnati 70, UCF 54
Cincinnati used a balanced attack to defeat UCF 70-54 Saturday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena. After the Bearcats held an 11-point lead in the first half, UCF battled back to even the score at 39 all with 13:19 remaining in the game. Cincinnati responded by going on a 17-4 run and garnered a nine-point lead heading into the eight minute media break. Ana Owens and Marley Hill combined for 10 of the Bearcats' final 14 points aiding Cincinnati to the 70-54 victory. Owens paced the Bearcats with 18 points and nine rebounds while Zykira Lewis had a team-high 15 points for the Knights.
East Carolina 87, Houston 46
Jada Payne scored a season-high 26 points and Jasmine Phillips recorded her first-career double-double as East Carolina collected its first American Athletic Conference victory, an 87-46 win over Houston, Saturday at Hofheinz Pavilion. Phillips scored 12 points to go along with 10 boards and five assists, while Abria Trice contributed 12 points and eight rebounds. Marche’ Amerson paced the Cougars with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Tyler Gilbert finished with nine points, six rebounds and four blocked shots.
Tulsa 76, Memphis 69
Kelsee Grovey led five double-figure scorers with 19 points as Tulsa picked up a 79-69 victory over Memphis Saturday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Golden Hurricane got 40 points off the bench, led by Ashley Hughes’ 14 points and 13 each by Kadan Brady and Teanna Reid. Tulsa improved to 7-8 on the season and 2-2 in the American Athletic Conference with the win, while Memphis fell to 8-8 and 2-3 in league play. The Tigers got a team-high 18 points from Asia Fuqua-Bey. Ariel Hearn chipped in 17 points.
