Ariel Hearn paced Memphis with a game-high 21 points in the Tigers' 84-49 win over Houston Saturday afternoon at Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Memphis shot 58.6-percent (34-for-58) for the game, including a first half mark of 62.1-percent (18-for-29). Hearn sparked the Tiger offense and added seven assists and three steals in 38 minutes of action. Mariah Mitchell led the Cougars and finished one point shy of a career high by scoring 14. Bianca Winslow added five steals for Houston, a personal best.
Tulsa 74, East Carolina 63
Four Tulsa players scored in double figures to lead the Golden Hurricane to a 74-63 comeback victory over East Carolina Saturday afternoon at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. Tulsa moved to 9-10 on the season and 4-4 in The American with the win, while the Pirates fell to 13-7 overall and 4-5 in league play with the loss. The Hurricane went from a 10-point deficit at the break to an 11-point win and a 21-point swing in the second half. Ashley Clark had a team leading and game-high 23 points, 17 of which came in the second half, while I’Tiana Taylor recorded her second consecutive double-double (20 pts., 18 rebs.) for East Carolina.
