Penn edged Temple, 52-50, in Philadelphia Big 5 action Monday night at the Palestra. The Owls led for nearly 32 minutes, but couldn't close out the victory as the Quakers snapped a three-game TU win streak. Templefell to 7-9 with the loss while Penn, who nabbed at least a share of the Big 5 title with the win, improved to 7-4.

Freshman Tanaya Atkinson recorded a double-double with 12 points and a career-best 17 rebounds to lead the Owls. Junior Erica Covile, who played just 21 minutes due to foul trouble, just missed her fifth-straight double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Senior Tyonna Williams added eight points, while freshman Alliya Butts had five points and a game-high four steals.
