Editor's Note: Heading into the Holiday Season and the end of 2015 we thought it would be nice to look back at some of the best plays from the past year. We scoured through lots of video footage and came up with our "12 Plays of Christmas". Every day we will reveal a new play that we consider to be one of our best from the year. The list will end with play number 1 on Christmas Eve.

Things were looking bleak for East Carolina on September 26 against Virginia Tech in front of 50,514 rain-soaked fans in a sold-out Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Just eight minutes into the game the Pirates found themselves down 14-0 after committing two turnovers.
East Carolina began to find themselves and knotted up the score at 14 when quarterback James Summers came in for starter Blake Kemp. Summers rattled off a 5-yard touchdown run before hitting Isaiah Jones with a 26-yard touchdown pass to make the score 28-14. The Hokies brought it within one score with a 2-yard touchdown run when Summers again showed what he was made of.
Faking the handoff Summers got through the middle with a sweet spin move but wasn't out of the woods as he was wrapped up by a defender. Making it look easy the quarterback dodged right to break the tackle and headed straight to the endzone for a 41-yard rushing Touchdown. The score gave the Pirates a lead they would not relinquish as East Carolina beat Virginia Tech, 35-28, for the second year in a row.
