UConn coach Geno Auriemma won his 900th career game with a 96-36 victory over Cincinnati Tuesday evening at the XL Center. The victory ties him with former Texas coach Jody Conradt for fifth place on the all-time women's list, 198 wins behind former Tennessee coach Pat Summitt. Freshman Gabby Williams led six players in double figures for the Huskies with a career-high 18 points. She also had 14 rebounds. Jasmine Whitfield led the Bearcats with 14 points. Nine of her 14 points came in the first half. Bianca Quisenberry finished with 10 points and scored all of her points in a span of three minutes and 16 seconds during a 12-2 Cincinnati run.
East Carolina 79, Houston 56
Four players reached double-figure points and Jasmine Phillips recorded her second double-double of the season in East Carolina's 79-56 win over Houston Tuesday night at Williams Arena in Minges Coliseum. Phillips scored 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting and matched career-highs in rebounds (10) and assists (5) while Shae Nelson led the team in scoring with a season-high 18 points. Making her first start since January 21, Jessieka Palmer paced the Cougars with 13 points while Marche’ Amerson added 11. The home team’s biggest advantage came in free-throws, where they were 25-for-28. Houston had a 12-for-16 outing at the charity stripe.
RV/RV USF 91, UCF 68
Courtney Williams led four USF players in double figures with 26 points in the Bulls’ 91-68 win over UCF at the Sun Dome. Fifteen different players saw action for USF, who won their 16th straight game over the Knights with Tuesday's victory. Williams extended her 20-point scoring streak to seven games and scored 22 of her 26 points in the first half. Alisia Jenkins added her 15th double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. UCF, who posted its best field-goal percentage of conference play this season, converted 28-of-59 (.475) shots and got a game-high 27 points from Zykira Lewis. Brittni Montgomery chipped in 19 points, nine rebounds and a career-high five assists.
Tulane 84, SMU 60
Tulane completed a season sweep of SMU on Tuesday, defeating the Mustangs 84-60 at Moody Coliseum in Dallas. Four Green Wave players scored in double figures, led by Kolby Morgan’s 18 points. Tulane finished with a season-best .574 shooting percentage in the win and tied their season-high in free-throws made with 22, converting 78.6-percent from the charity stripe. Morgan Bolton and Mikayla Reese both recorded career-high points for SMU as Bolton led the team with 13 points and Reese added nine. With two blocks, Alicia Froling set the SMU freshman single season mark for blocks with 42.
