Bulls Roll Past LSU in NCAA Tournament

No. 25/25 USF (27-7) matched the best record in program history with its second-ever NCAA tournament victory on Saturday. The Bulls defeated 11th-seeded LSU, 73-64, at the Sun Dome and advanced to second round action on Monday versus No. 8/8 Louisville. Game time versus the third-seeded Cardinals is set for 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Courtney Williams set a new single-season USF scoring record by posting a game-high 17 points with 12 rebounds. The junior tallied 685 points this year. Alisia Jenkins added 15 points and eight rebounds while Katelyn Weber chipped in nine points and six rebounds.

USF kept an LSU comeback out of reach by going 22-for-29 at the free-throw line and grabbing 19-of-45 total rebounds on the offensive end. The Bulls dished out 16 assists and forced 16 turnovers while the Lady Tigers (17-14) went 3-for-13 from long range.

RV/NR LSU (17-14) won is past 16 consecutive opening-round NCAA tournament games heading into Saturday night. Danielle Ballard paced three Tigers in double figure scoring with 17 points.
