Memphis Overpowers Missouri State, 63-7



MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Doroland Dorceus and Jarvis Cooper ran for two touchdowns apiece, Mose Frazier caught two scoring passes and Memphis beat Missouri State 63-7 in Saturday's season opener.

The Tigers outrushed the Bears 317 yards to 18 yards, with Cooper gaining 102 yards on 18 carries, including two 4-yard scoring runs. Dorceus had 19 yards on 6 carries, and his second TD, a 1-yard run, put Memphis up 42-0 at halftime.



Roderick Proctor returned a punt 63 yards for a first-quarter score and Jamarius Henderson scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth.

Paxton Lynch and Phil Mayhue each threw scoring passes to Frazier, and Clay Holgorsen hit Jae'lon Oglesby on a 4-yarder in the third quarter. The Tigers had 202 passing yards to the Bears' 107 yards.



Breck Ruddick threw a 2-yard pass to Malik Earl for Missouri State's lone TD, and had 101 yards passing on 24 attempts.
