AMHERST, Mass. -- Tulane overcame an early 14-0 deficit to score 24 straight points en route to a 31-24 road win at UMass.

Glen Cuilette accounted for 168 yards passing and one touchdown in the air while the Green Wave triple option attack yielded 280 yards on the ground.

Dontrell Hilliard, Josh Rounds and Lazedrick Thompson all scored touchdowns for Tulane (3-2), which used 14 third quarter points to take the lead for good.

Trailing 14-10 at the half, the Green Wave moved ahead when Guilette found Terren Encalade for a 36-yard strike, part of a 125-yard receiving day for Encalade.



Thompson's rushing touchdown capped the 24 straight Tulane points before UMass responded to make it a 24-17 game.

Rounds' 10-yard touchdown run with 5:32 remaining helped seal the game. 

Hilliard finished one yard shy of a 100-yard afternoon, carrying 22 times for 99 yards.
