Owls Set Career Marks in Win Over Fairfield; Green Wave Wins Tulane Classic

Highlights

• Temple used a 20-0 run from the end of the third quarter to midway through the fourth to put away visiting Fairfield, 73-59, on Thursday afternoon at McGonigle Hall. Alliya Butts led the Owls with 26 points, tying a career-best with six 3-pointers, and in the process, became Temple's all-time career leader in the category. Another career mark was matched in the contest, as the Owl victory tied head coach Tonya Cardoza with Dawn Staley (2000-08) for the all-time program lead with 172 wins.

• For the ninth straight year and 17th overall time, Tulane hoisted the Tulane Classic trophy, defeating Auburn in a 61-59 thriller Thursday evening inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. Tulane Classic MVP Kolby Morgan paved the way with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including a 4-for-6 mark from three-point range, followed by All-Tournament selection Leslie Vorpahl and her 10-point, six assist performance.
