Temple Wins Eighth Straight Contest; UCF, Tulane Rebound on the Road

Highlights

UCF outscored Houston 22-9 in the third quarter to collect its first American Athletic Conference win on Wednesday evening, downing the Cougars 62-48 at Hofheinz Pavilion. Four Knights finished in double figures, led by senior Zykira Lewis who had 17 points. Angela Harris paced Houston with 11 points off the bench.

Temple senior Feyonda Fitzgerald became the program's all-time assist leader as the Owls' won their eighth-straight contest with a 78-47 victory over visiting East Carolina on Wednesday. Fitzgerald broke a 34-year old record set by Donna Kennedy, who compiled 507 assists from 1979 to 1983. The senior finished with nine helpers on the night with a game-best 22 points.  Raven Johnson scored a team-high 10 points for the Pirates.



• Kolby Morgan notched her second straight game with 20+ points with 21, and Tulane bounced back from a two-game skid with a 71-59 win over SMU at Moody Coliseum. Leslie Vorpahl chipped in 18 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range while Meredith Schulte pulled down a career-best 11 rebounds. Alicia Froling led the Mustangs with 15 points in the loss.
