Highlights
Temple earned a 2-0 victory over Houston Thursday. The Owls currently round out the top six in conference standings, qualifying for The American tournament. Gabriella McKeown scored the first goal 14 minutes into the game. Three minutes later freshman midfielder Emma Wilkins secured the insurance goal. Temple’s defense held strong the rest of the match.
Cincinnati
21/18 topped Tulsa 3-1 Thursday night at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats moved to 11-1-2 overall and 4-0-1 in The American. Jill Vetere opened the scoring, while Sophie Gorman soon followed. Gorman leads the team in goals with four on the year. Sydney Goins scored her first goal of the year, second of her career and her first game-winner in the 75th minute.
Memphis won its 10th match of the 2017 season Thursday evening with a 2-0 shutout at ECU. Marie Levasseur scored first for the Tigers, her eighth of the season. Mikayla Morton scored in the 64th minutes to put Memphis up 2-0. Morton, now with nine goals, was assisted by freshman Osa Iyare.
UConn took a 2-1 edge over SMU Friday night at Morrone Stadium. Freshman Yamilee Eveillard scored two goals an sophomore Erin Spillane had assists on both. Eveillard’s game-winner was made with 2:26 minutes to play. The Huskies improve to fifth place in the league standings.
